Not only was Tony Blair accused by his own priest of "moral surrender" he dragged Britain's Attorney General into the mire with him: Goldsmith . . .has denied claims he swallowed his own doubts [i.e. committed moral surrender] about the case for war to give Blair legal cover after London and Washington failed to gain United Nations backing for a resolution authorising military action.
